Maths in the seventh grade, constructions with compasses and rulers are the turn of this lesson. Johanna correctly answers the question how to fall the plumb bob. But the twelve-year-old doesn’t even sit in the classroom. On her desk stands a, well, white little man, his head on the projection of bisecting angles and perpendicular bisectors. It can’t lift its finger, it flashed blue violently to signal the teacher: I want to say something. Johanna is sitting at home with a math book, loose-leaf binder, compass and ruler at hand. An avatar has occupied her place, second row in the middle of the classroom in the Adolf-Weber-Gymnasium, for almost four months now. Because Johanna was unable to attend classes for a long time, she had to lie down for weeks after a spinal operation.
