Munich: “an imperfect utopia” at the Kammerspiele – Munich

The premiere of “niedoskonała utopia / an imperfect utopia” should have been a year ago. At that time, a Corona wave caught up with the Munich Kammerspiele, some things were delayed, canceled, the following season started differently than planned. And the old one didn’t end as intended. Now the 2022/23 season is almost over and the production “an imperfect utopia” is supposed to round off the season. The Munich premiere will be rescheduled in the Schauspielhaus on July 25th, then the production will be on the schedule twice more – and the season will be over. Unusual for the playhouse: the audience sits on the stage.

“An imperfect utopia” is a co-production with TR Warszawa, where it was shown in October. Subtitle is: “A show about the lies that life is based on”. The German-Polish performance project was directed by Noémi Ola Berkowitz. The experimental evening of theater aims to answer the question: “In this world of meticulously constructed gender norms, do people have a chance to be themselves?”
