Munich: After the attack in Müllerstraße – 35-year-old admitted to psychiatry – Munich

The 35-year-old from Munich, who suddenly pushed a woman off her bike and seriously injured her, was forced into a psychiatric facility. The police said the man was already known to the police because of several violent crimes and was still aggressive. The health department arranged the accommodation, and a judge confirmed it.

The man is said to have attacked the 46-year-old cyclist on Thursday last week at around 3.45 p.m. on Müllerstrasse. The woman fell onto the tram tracks when a tram approached – she was able to brake in time. The 46-year-old had to be taken to a clinic. A 61-year-old witness followed and photographed the fleeing 35-year-old. When he noticed this, police said he kicked her in the stomach and back and threatened her with death.

A search was unsuccessful. However, police officers recognized the man from the photos. He was questioned after several days and denied the crime, reports the Bureau. The man only received a so-called threat speech, an arrest warrant was not issued. There were no reasons for this, such as a risk of flight, it was initially said. It was only after almost a week that she was placed in a psychiatric ward.

The police are also investigating links to other acts of violence. As is usual in such cases, the officers on site informed the homicide squad, reports the Bureau. This has been routine for aggression crimes since the investigation into Domenico Lorusso’s “Isar murder” began ten years ago. The then 31-year-old confronted a stranger after he spat on Lorusso’s girlfriend on the cycle path on Erhardtstrasse and was stabbed. So far, 5,800 saliva samples have been checked in the DNA comparison, the police said, which is also being considered in this case.
