An argument at a New Year’s Eve party in Freiham got so bad that a 20-year-old from Munich’s life is currently in danger. The police arrested a suspect, a 22-year-old from Munich, in an apartment not far from the crime scene.
According to police reports, the 22-year-old man allegedly injured the 20-year-old several times with a kitchen knife on the sidewalk outside the apartment. The police seized the murder weapon. The victim suffered multiple cuts and stab wounds and was lying on the ground when officers arrived. The young man from Munich received emergency medical treatment at the scene. He then had to undergo emergency surgery in a hospital. His condition is currently considered “extremely critical,” according to the police.
According to initial investigations, the two men argued over a games console. Test results for alcohol or other drugs are not yet available. The Munich I public prosecutor’s office applied for an arrest warrant against the 22-year-old for attempted murder. He will be brought before the investigating judge this Tuesday.
