Multisearch, Live View, Immersive View… Will artificial intelligence soon be within everyone’s reach?

While the ChatGPT conversational robot is the attraction of the moment, Microsoft announces to integrate it into its Bing search engine, the race for AI (Artificial Intelligence) is in full swing. During a press presentation held in Paris on February 8, 2023, Google unveiled its own advances in artificial intelligence. 20 minutes was there.

Besides his chatbot named Bard (currently in the test phase and having to counter ChatGPT), the Mountain View firm has lifted the veil on the latest innovations offered by its search engine.

Multisearch: to find everything… and better

Present in the Google search bar (under Android but also iOS), the Lens tool (symbolized by the icon of a camera), has until now made it possible to identify objects. But Google wants to go further. By associating it with the Multisearch tool, it is now possible to associate words with your search.

Example: you fall for a chair spotted in a restaurant and would see it in your living room? Want to know if it also exists in beige? Once the object has been photographed and identified by Lens, type “beige” in the Multisearch search field. Bingo: photos appear, showing that the furniture also exists in your favorite color! But can you buy it somewhere? Nothing could be simpler: this time type “nearby” to possibly find a store that would offer it in beige. This function is already available in France.

Live View: to let yourself be guided… effortlessly

Only available in certain major cities (London, Los Angeles, New York, Tokyo, but also Paris), the Live View function allows you to be better guided when you are in the street or in a shopping center, and when you looking for a specific place or thing. Are you on a street and want to have a coffee?

Google has unveiled its new tools based on artificial intelligence to guide us. – Capture

Activate the function in the Google search field, and point your smartphone at the street. By combining real view, augmented reality and artificial intelligence, Live View simply guides you by superimposing information on the surrounding shops, their attendance, the prices charged, but also the way in which you can get there.

Immersive view: To prepare for a visit… without getting tired

Combining billions of aerial views and Street View, the Immersive View function makes it possible, for example, to prepare for a visit to a museum. So it is possible to visualize the building in 3D upstream (with the evolution of the day’s weather according to the time you want to go there!), to know where the entrance is, what are the zones and hours of influence…

It is even possible to spot the small restaurant next door where you can grab a bite, go inside, see the decor… Quite stunning Immersive view is not yet offered in Paris, but only in London , Los Angeles, San Francisco and Tokyo.
