Taylor Swift has won at the MTV Video Music Awards. At the award ceremony, the singer surprisingly announced a new album.

On Sunday evening (August 28) the MTV Video Music Awards ceremony took place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The big winner of the evening was Taylor Swift (32): she won the “Video of the Year” category with the ten-minute music video for her song “All Too Well”. The singer also won awards in the categories “Best Long Version Video” and “Best Director”.

When she accepted the second award, she had a surprise in store: Swift announced a new album for October. In the meantime, she has revealed more details about it on social media: The long player is titled “Midnights” and contains “the stories of 13 sleepless nights that are scattered throughout my life,” wrote the singer on twitter. “Midnights” will be released on October 21st.

Bad Bunny named “Artist of the Year”

Latin rap singer Bad Bunny (28) was honored as “Artist of the Year”. He did not accept the award in New Jersey. Instead, the reggaeton star had a grand performance at Yankee Stadium in New York City, which was broadcast as part of the awards ceremony. Billie Eilish (20) delivered the “Song of the Year” with her hit “Happier Than Ever”, “Best Newcomer” was US singer Dove Cameron (26).
