Singer and actress Jennifer Lopez will receive an honorary award for special services in the TV and film business at the upcoming MTV Movie & TV Awards.

Latina star Jennifer Lopez (52, “Marry Me – Married at First Sight”) is to receive a special award at the MTV Movie & TV Awards.

The singer and actress will be honored with the MTV Generation Award at the award gala on Sunday evening (local time), the music broadcaster announced on Friday. In the past, stars such as Scarlett Johansson, Chris Pratt, Robert Downey Jr., Tom Cruise, Reese Witherspoon and Sandra Bullock have been honored with the Honorary Award for Distinguished Service to Television and Film.

Fans vote online for the winners of the audience awards for feature films and television productions, which have been awarded since 1992. The trophies, in the form of a gold-colored popcorn cup, will be presented in Los Angeles on Sunday.

The film favorite this time is “Spider-Man: No Way Home” with seven chances to win. Hollywood stars like Lady Gaga («House of Gucci»), Sandra Bullock («The Lost City»), Robert Pattinson («The Batman»), Timothée Chalamet («Dune») and Tom Holland («Spider-Man: No Way Home») vying for the acting trophy.

The MTV Movie & TV Awards traditionally take place after the end of the film award season around the Golden Globes and Oscars. With categories such as best kiss, villains, heroes and fight scenes, it is aimed at the younger audience.
