MScreen, a subsidiary of the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Tinno Mobile, is advertising for financial support for two portable screens on the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter. The originally set minimum sum of 12,453 euros has already been significantly exceeded: at the time of this report, more than 171,000 euros had already been collected for the devices.
The so-called MScreen Standard weighs 550 g and measures 14.1 customs service in the diagonal and possesses a IP-Panel with a crooked 32:9-resolution of 1920 x 550 pixels. The key technical data also includes 60 Hz refresh rate, 8 bits Color depth, 100 percent sRGB, a 1200:1 contrast and 400 cd/m² luminance. The 8.8-inch model (MScreen Mini), which weighs just 240 g, is also equipped with IPS technology, but only has a resolution of 1920×480 pixels and only has a contrast ratio of 800:1. On the other hand, the brightness of 600 cd/m² is much higher than that of the 14.1 incher.
Apart from that, the siblings are very similar: The smaller version also offers 60 Hz and 8-bit color depth. Both crowdfunding candidates also have a microHDMI– and micro USB connector, an aluminum case and a VESA-Socket (75 x 75 mm). The portable displays can be used either in landscape or portrait format and should have a power button and a switch for brightness control in the final version.
Interested parties can get the MScreen Mini from the equivalent of around 93 euros and the MScreen Standard from the equivalent of around 136 euros at Kickstarter support or purchase. According to the current status, the publication should take place in October 2022. (Source: golem)
