February has exciting new starts in store for subscribers of major streaming services. The series tips at a glance.
All fans of elegant fashion can look forward to the high-quality fashion series “The New Look” next month, in which the story of star designer Christian Dior (1905-1957) is the focus. Meanwhile, a remake of a classic action comedy is starting on Amazon Prime Video – and zombie fans are finally finding out more about the fate of “Walking Dead” main character Rick Grimes.

“Mr. & Mrs. Smith”: From February 2nd on Amazon Prime Video
“Mr. & Mrs. Smith”, the unforgettable film classic with Brad Pitt (60) and Angelina Jolie (48), is receiving a contemporary update in series form on Amazon Prime Video. Donald Glover (“Atlanta”, 40) and Maya Erskine (“Obi-Wan Kenobi”, 36) play the main roles of John and Jane Smith. In contrast to the Pitt-Jolie blockbuster from 2005, the two characters in the Amazon series know about their work as secret agents from the start because they are hired together.
For a spy agency, Jane and John have to act as a married couple and complete one extremely dangerous mission after the next. The trailer for the series promises the mixture of captivating action sequences and entertaining verbal exchanges already known from the earlier film.
With guest stars Sarah Paulson (“American Horror Story”), Alexander Skarsgård (“Big Little Lies”), Úrsula Corberó (“Money Heist”), Paul Dano (“The Fablemans”) and John Turturro (“The Big Lebowski” ), the spy comedy series also has a more than top-class cast.
All eight episodes from season one appear on Prime Video in one go.
“The New Look”: From February 14th on Apple TV+
The lavishly produced historical series “The New Look” starts on the streaming service Apple TV+ on Valentine’s Day. Character actor Ben Mendelsohn (“The Outsider”, 54) embodies star designer Christian Dior in the series project. The show takes place during the Nazi occupation of Paris and in the years that followed, when Dior rose to become the new star in the fashion sky with his revolutionary designs and began to threaten the dominance of the then dominant fashion designer Coco Chanel (Juliette Binoche, 59).
Apple TV+ clearly spared no expense or effort in producing “The New Look”. The star-studded series was created exclusively at original locations in Paris and takes a unique, fictional look behind the scenes of Christian Dior’s world-famous studio.
Many other legendary fashion greats of the time such as Cristóbal Balenciaga (Nuno Lopes, 45) or Pierre Balmain (Thomas Poitevin, 44) can also be seen in supporting roles. “Game of Thrones” star Maisie Williams (26) plays Dior’s sister Catherine Dior (1917-2008).

“Avatar: The Lord of the Elements”: From February 22nd on Netflix
After the streaming service Netflix has re-released some legendary anime series such as “Cowboy Bebop” or “One Piece” as live-action series in recent years, the popular US animated series “Avatar – The Lord of the Elements” is now being given a new version. a live-action film.

Will fans of the legendary zombie show “The Walking Dead” finally get the series finale they always wanted? The eagerly awaited spin-off “The Ones Who Live” starts in Germany on February 26th, in which fan favorite Michonne (Danai Gurira, 45) goes in search of her missing partner Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln, 50). “Walking Dead” main character from the first hour.
