Amy Adams to Star in Drama ‘At the Sea’

Amy Adams has been nominated for an Oscar six times, but has always come away empty-handed. The Hollywood star is now set to play the leading role in the drama “At the Sea”. The Hungarian Mundruczó directs the film.
The film revolves around a woman named Laura who returns to her family’s beach house after a long period of rehabilitation. There, the former career woman has to get used to a new, simpler life. Filming is scheduled to begin in June in Boston, Massachusetts.
Adams is known for his appearances in comedies (“Bewitched,” “Julie & Julia”) and dramas (“The Fighter,” “The Master,” “American Hustle”). The Hollywood star was nominated for an Oscar six times, most recently as Supporting actress in the political satire “Vice – The Second Man” (2019), but so far has always come away empty-handed.
Mundruczó (49) and his wife, the Hungarian screenwriter Kata Wéber, brought the drama “Pieces of a Woman” to the screen together as director and author in 2020. The British actress Vanessa Kirby plays a woman who loses her child moments after birth. For her role, Kirby was named best actress at the Venice Film Festival and nominated for an Oscar for best actress. Wéber is now also supplying the script for “At the Sea”.
