Heavy snowstorms made search work difficult
In winter there had been heavy snowstorms in California and some smaller avalanches. This also made the search work difficult. According to his family, Sands was an avid hiker. He wanted to take the highest hiking trail on Mount Baldy – which leads up to 1200 meters in height. The exact cause of death is not known at this time.
Born in Great Britain, Sands had made a name for himself in films and series primarily as a character and supporting actor. He played in “Leaving Las Vegas” alongside Nicolas Cage, in the literary adaptation “Verblendung” and in the series “Dexter”.
