Homecoming cheers for Kami Rita. The Nepalese Sherpa had just scaled the highest mountain on earth, Mount Everest, for the 18th time, more than any human before. What usually remains a unique moment in life for normal mountaineers is Kami Rita’s daily bread. Incidentally, the 53-year-old was up twice this week. If his health allows it, he will continue, he does not plan to hang up his climbing shoes. Incidentally, he does not do this to break records, but to promote tourism in Nepal. Sherpas are primarily from the Solukhumbu District, which is home to Mount Everest and several other peaks. They make their living mainly by guiding foreign clients to Everest and other peaks in the Himalayas.
