Mother’s home burglarized during her hearing

His three little daughters were found dead in Alfortville and their father confessed to having killed them. While she was answering questions from the police, a few hours after these terrible confessions, her home was burglarized during the night from Sunday to Monday, the public prosecutor of Créteil said on Monday.

“The home of the victims’ mother was visited last night during her hearing before our services” and an investigation into burglary was opened, prosecutor Stéphane Hardouin said on Monday in a statement to the press. He assured that “significant resources are being used to establish whether this intrusion has a link with the impact of this family tragedy”.

Chest wounds and asphyxia

The prosecution does not specify where the mother of the children, separated from their father, resided, but the investigation was entrusted to the Boissy-Saint-Léger police station. On Sunday, a man already convicted of domestic violence was indicted after presenting himself at a police station in Dieppe (Seine-Maritime), several hundred kilometers from his home, to declare having killed his three daughters aged 4, 10 and 11 years old.

At his home in Alfortville, the police found the three lifeless bodies, the two eldest with chest wounds. “One of the two eldest was on the bed”, while the second was lying “on the sofa in the living room” and had wounds on her hands “suggesting the grip of a blade” during defensive movements , specifies the prosecutor. The face of the youngest child evoked “a notion of asphyxiation”, therefore of strangulation.

Conviction for violence against a minor

According to the prosecutor, “the first visual findings, in particular the remains of a meal, lead us to think that the facts took place during the night from Saturday to Sunday possibly in their sleep”. The father’s police custody will be extended by 24 hours this Monday and he will be interviewed by the police in the afternoon.

He was convicted in April 2021 for several acts of domestic violence against the mother of his children and for violence against a minor, “to the detriment of his younger daughter”, specified Stéphane Hardouin. Sentenced to eighteen months in prison, 12 of which were suspended, he had served his sentence and was no longer being monitored. Alternate custody had been put in place “at the request of the family”, underlines the prosecution.
