“Moskva”: Russian warship severely damaged by explosion

This ship, here in archive footage, is probably the most important of the Russian Black Sea Fleet: the missile cruiser “Moskva”. However, the ship is now badly damaged after an explosion. As the Interfax news agency reports, citing the Russian Ministry of Defense, ammunition on board the ship is said to have exploded. However, the entire crew was able to save themselves. The cause of the fire is currently being investigated. However, information about the case is contradictory. A Ukrainian official previously said the ship had been hit by two Ukrainian missiles, without providing any evidence to support this claim. Satellite images from the Maxar company show the missile cruiser before the explosion near Sevastopol, the largest city on the Crimean peninsula.
