Of course, the dream is over and it’s not easy to recover from having failed so close to the goal. But for Morocco and Croatia, unfortunate semi-finalists of this World Cup, there is one last game to play, with a medal to win at the end. Croats wouldn’t spit on it. For their small country of less than four million inhabitants, bringing home a third medal in seven editions, after bronze in 1998 and silver in 2018, would in itself be a huge success. As for Regragui’s men, it would be a great way to close this historic chapter, for them and for African football as a whole. So, shall we play?
