In a criminal case against shock call scammers, the Federal Court of Justice (BGH) confirmed a ruling by the Traunstein Regional Court from April. A 38-year-old, who worked as a logistician for a gang and also picked up loot from the mostly older victims, has to be imprisoned for ten and a half years for gang and commercial fraud.
The regional court had already sent the head of the gang to prison for ten years and eight months in 2022; this verdict has been legally binding since spring. The local public prosecutor’s office had brought together fraud cases from all over southern Germany for the proceedings based on the “Traunstein model”.
