“More than 700 employees” sick after Airbus Christmas meal

The foie gras, the scallop casserole, the tournedos or the small sweet verrines did not really go down well. At the end of last week, in Montoir near Saint-Nazaire, the Airbus Christmas meal turned into a fiasco.

“More than 700 employees reported sick with clinical signs of vomiting or diarrhea,” the Regional Health Agency (ARS) indicated this Friday in 20 minutesconfirming this suspicion of collective food poisoning revealed by West France.

A questionnaire sent to all guests

Most of the guests experienced vomiting and diarrhea the day after or two days after the feast. But no one was “seriously ill”, wants to reassure the company’s communications department.

While some employees suspect cheese, an epidemiological investigation was launched by the ARS. A questionnaire was sent to all participants in this meal in order to identify the cause and origin of the ailments. “The file is now following its course with the ARS which is leading the investigations and will launch the necessary analyzes once they have consolidated the results of the investigation,” assures Airbus.
