The passage of the Aurora storm did not only wake up many French people in their sleep. With gusts of up to 175 km / h in Fécamp and 106 km / h in Rouen, the strong winds caused damage. 250,000 homes woke up without electricity across the northern half of France, according to an Enedis count. 80,000 of them are located in Normandy, the storm’s entry point to France.
Enedis specifies that its rapid intervention force is triggered, with 3,000 technicians on the job. But no certainty on the time of return to normal has been put forward, since the inventory is not complete. Météo-France has placed 17 departments on orange alert for “strong winds”.
