In the direction of departures, Saturday is classified as red at national level and black in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpe regions and in the Mediterranean arc. It is classified red on the whole territory in the direction of returns.
At noon, Bison Futé counted 1,060 kilometers of traffic jams in France. It is on the A7 that the traffic is the densest with nearly 180 kilometers of cumulative slowdowns at midday and nearly 160 km on the A10.
In the southwest
On the A10, motorists are already encountering difficulties heading south. At 11 a.m., it took 3:35 a.m. to Saint-Arnoult-Poitiers compared to 2:30 a.m. in normal times. Traffic is even more complicated between Poitiers and Bordeaux with a journey time more than doubled (4 h 45 against 2 hours).
On the A63, traffic jams are also to be noted in the direction of the south. It takes 2 hours 45 minutes to reach the Spanish border from Bordeaux compared to 1 hour 55 minutes in normal times. In the Spain-Bordeaux direction, it also becomes denser at Salles.
On the Bordeaux ring road, major traffic jams have formed between Lormont and Villenave-d’Ornon in both directions. An accident between three vehicles near Tresses on the inner ring road complicates the situation.
Difficult traffic until 8 p.m.
The peak of traffic is expected around 1 p.m. but the difficulties will remain very high until 8 p.m., warns Bison Futé.
To escape slowdowns, the public road information service advises motorists to leave or cross Île-de-France after noon, and to avoid the A71 motorway, between Orléans and Clermont-Ferrand, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., as well as the A8, between Aix-en-Provence and Nice, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
