According to its own information, the club sold the company Orpheus Media 24.5 percent of the shares in Barça Studios for 100 million euros on Friday. The originally planned sale of the club’s production company to another company had apparently failed due to legal and administrative problems.
The Catalans hope to meet the league’s financial fair play rules with the additional income and thus be able to register the expensive newcomers Jules Kounde, Raphinha, Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie and Lewandowski in the league. Only then can they play. The same was true for Ousmane Dembélé and Sergi Roberto, whose contracts have been renewed.
The heavily indebted club will play the first league game of the new season on Saturday evening (9 p.m.) at their home Camp Nou against Rayo Vallecano from Madrid. Club boss Joan Laporta had previously emphasized that former Bayern striker Lewandowski should definitely be the first to be registered.
Mud fight for de Jong
