Moosach: What the new bosses are planning at Steinsee – Ebersberg

Of course there is a lot to do when you are about to take over a new location. Hire staff, develop a concept, calculate prices – that fills the working days well. It shouldn’t be any different for Uli Lischka and Stefan Schadhauser, who dared to start anew at Steinsee in the spring and took over the restaurant and leisure area there. But when everything goes well, they want to enjoy their favorite drinks with a view of the lake – Uli Lischka’s is a Negroni or Whiskey Sour, Stefan Schadhauser will rather get an Ayinger Kellerbier or Helles. That’s one of the details they’re now revealing as the opening draws near.

Lischka and Schadhauser took over the leisure area from Karl-Heinz Wildmoser, who previously ran it for eight years. It’s supposed to start on March 15th with a “soft opening” and a small card, the two operators want to expand the offer at Easter in early April. A chef should also be on board by then, but the search is still ongoing, as PR boss Markus Strobl reports. The new chef should be open and creative and stand for contemporary and modern dishes, according to the wishes of the operator. Schadhauser and Lischka promise that there will always be something more rustic on the menu, such as beef roulade, stuffed veal breast or Briesmilzwurst. In addition to a few weddings and larger company events that have already been booked, they would like to focus more on the conference business. Larger music events could also take place at Steinsee in the future, the operators are currently talking about this with some partners.

It will be a little longer before the season starts at the leisure area, but the two new operators also have many ideas for this area, as they say themselves. The occupancy is to be extended to twelve months through various offers such as an outdoor fitness club, a kids club with professional childcare, a dog club for dog owners and a wide range of seminars and training courses from nutritional advice to yoga and management seminars . There are also considerations to offer year-round membership to regional companies, associations and private individuals.

Outdoor cinema, concerts, Christmas market – the operators have also planned something like this. “But it’s still too early to be specific. We’re happy to keep everyone up to date via our Facebook or Instagram channel or our website,” says Schadhauser. 2023 should serve as an entry and test season, in order to then set the screws for the next three to five years in the medium term.

According to Schadhauser, the Steinsee cannot be compared with other lakes in the Munich area: “There is a very family atmosphere at the Steinsee, which you miss on the other lakes because of their size or the anonymity due to the proximity to the city.” Of course, every lake has its fans, says Schadhauser. In any case, he wanted to offer “local recreation for all target groups”.
