Aged 41, the former midfielder passed by Barça had been Vilda’s assistant since 2018 and therefore participated in the first world title won last month by the female Roja in Australia and New Zealand.
She becomes the first woman to hold the position and will make her debut with two League of Nations matches scheduled for September 22 against Sweden and September 26 against Switzerland.
