It didn’t take long for Karl Lauterbach to sit with Markus Lanz. The first case of monkeypox in Germany was confirmed on May 20, five days later the Minister of Health was a guest on the ZDF talk show. And there he found himself in a role that is hardly known from him: he gave the all-clear.
