For everyone who occasionally misses a notice period, the first of December 2021 must have felt like Easter and Christmas together. Since that date, mobile phone, landline and Internet contracts can be terminated monthly after the end of the minimum term. A blessing, considering that customers who had previously failed to cancel in time were automatically stuck in their contracts for another year. But research of Süddeutsche Zeitung show that some providers are not quite so precise with the new regulation and that it is not always possible to get out of the contracts immediately.
