In the US state of Michigan, the police have discovered the home of one Woman discovered on a supermarket roof. As American media report, construction workers came across an extension cable that led into an advertising sign for the “Family Fare” grocery store – and thus into the 34-year-old’s makeshift home.
“I’ve never seen anything like this in my career,” a police spokesman told the Midland Daily News on Wednesday about the April 23 discovery. The woman had lived in the shop sign for about a year. The spokesman continued that the 34-year-old had made herself at home in her home, including a mini desk, floor coverings, a pantry and a house plant.

The newspaper also reports that the police gave the woman the name “Rooftop Ninja.”
The police then told the uninvited resident that she had to find another place to live. The woman was offered housing allowance and other support, but she refused. According to the report in the “Midland Daily News”, the 34-year-old does not have to fear a criminal complaint from the supermarket. She is said to have only been banned from the house. The supermarket management even agreed to remove the furniture from the roof and return it to the woman.
It remains unclear why the woman came up with the idea of setting up in the billboard and also how she was able to remain undetected there for a year. According to the newspaper, the police said the 34-year-old probably had a car and a job – but not in the grocery store.
