Ministry sticks to audits during G-7 summit – Bavaria

The Bavarian Ministry of Culture is sticking to the exams for students from the Garmisch-Partenkirchen district during the G-7 summit at Schloss Elmau. In principle, distance classes are planned for three days at the end of June because of the summit in the district. This is to prevent boys and girls from not coming to school because of traffic delays. Only the exams should continue to take place on site, although some have asked for a postponement.

After Minister of Education Michael Piazolo (Free Voters) met with those responsible from the district on Wednesday, a spokesman for the ministry confirmed the previous line. The schools at which the exams will be held are now being determined for the affected high school, business school and vocational school students. “If, contrary to expectations, this is not possible for schoolchildren in individual cases due to the local restrictions during the G-7 summit, the possibility of a timely substitute examination will be available.”

The G-7 summit chaired by Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) is scheduled for June 26-28. In 2015, heads of state and government from seven leading industrial nations met at Schloss Elmau.
