The Interior Ministry of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania has banned the right-wing extremist association “Nationale Sozialisten Rostock” (“NSR”). The sub-organization “Baltic Corps” also belongs to it. Four apartments and workplaces in Rostock, Güstrow and in the Wismar area were searched.
According to the Ministry of the Interior, 50 officers from the State Office of Criminal Investigation carried out the searches of the association’s members on Thursday morning. “We have exhausted all the possibilities of the rule of law to put an end to the activities of this comradeship,” said Interior Minister Torsten Renz (CDU). According to Renz, the “NSR” and the “Baltik Korps” had long been in the sights of the constitution protection. “The knowledge gained from this clearly shows that these associations are directed against the constitutional order and the idea of international understanding,” the minister said in a statement.

The rule of law has proven its willingness to act to combat right-wing extremism. “I will continue to fight right-wing extremism resolutely in the future, the current ban stands for zero tolerance,” said Renz. The group is considered to be the strongest within the neo-Nazi scene in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, which does not shy away from threats against police officers. The ministry may want to inform about the first results of the searches in the afternoon.
“Formative structure of the right-wing extremist scene”
According to the Ministry of the Interior, the “National Socialists Rostock” have been the defining structure of the right-wing extremist scene in Rostock for years, which has built up a widely ramified network across national borders. The group, which also appears under the name “Action Blog”, was mentioned for the first time in 2008 – and since then year after year – in the report for the protection of the Constitution. The “Baltik Korps” founded in 2019 is the “athletic arm” of the group. Members carried out regular group-internal martial arts training, it is said.
