AfD Foundation
:
Because they know what they are doing
It has been known for years that the AfD wants – and can – apply for millions for its Desiderius Erasmus Foundation. Now the right are demanding what they believe to be theirs. Is democracy financing its own disintegration here?
from
Markus Balser and Jens Schneider, Berlin
The search for the Desiderius Erasmus Foundation begins on the splendid boulevard Unter den Linden. The address of the AfD-affiliated foundation at number 21 is one of the best in Berlin. The luxury property Lindencorso is on the corner of Friedrichstrasse. In the shop window: luxury sledges from Audi. In the entrance hall: marble. An escalator carries visitors to the porter. Where is the Desiderius Erasmus Foundation located here? “Please who?” The porter leafed through the guide files. Letter box? “It’s not. But on the 5th floor, you can get lost in the secretariat.”
