Million Stars Hotels: Crazy accommodations in Switzerland

Whether forest bed, bird box, rooftop, igloo suite or glamping tent – after the successful start of the campaign Million Stars Hotel two years ago, further unconventional accommodation options were added to the portfolio in 2022.

In almost all cantons of the Alpine country there are again double beds under transparent domes or under the open sky. The landscape serves as wallpaper. Instead of a roof over your head, there is the starry sky. Most of the accommodations are isolated and secluded, but often within easy reach of a farm or guesthouse, so that guests can fall back on the appropriate infrastructure.

Micro adventures overnight

Proven Million Stars Hotels from previous years are still on offer. The project deliberately promotes decentralized and rural tourism and brings visitors to lesser-known Swiss locations such as Obergesteln in Valais, Gänsbrunnen, Solothurn or Rohrbachgraben, Bern – all regions that are guaranteed not to be overcrowded.

The prices for one night and two people including breakfast start at 79 euros, but can also cost 250 euros. A bad weather variant was usually thought of, should a storm arise. Then a retreat will be provided by the hosts.

On the following pages of the photo series we present the new accommodation options that were not bookable last year.
