Scholz against the economy: Please listen instead of dismissive – economy

Companies and associations in Germany complain about miserable government policies. Olaf Scholz simply lets the criticism drain away. Both camps have become comfortable with their righteousness – thereby ensuring that there is no progress.

Recently, the President of the Federation of German Industries (BDI), Siegfried Russwurm, gave an interview to this newspaper. In it, the representative of the most important German business association coined the word about the “two lost years” that the federal government had brought to the country since it took office. That was strong talk, you haven’t heard a BDI president speak like that for a long time, probably not for 50 years, and as a result this dictum made waves in the German media. The formula was simply too unusual and too disrespectful not to keep turning it into new headlines.
