Miles Teller next 007? His grandmother brought the “Top Gun” star into the conversation. But there’s a problem: Teller is American.

Miles Teller (35) would like to become the next James Bond. “Yeah. I mean, yeah, perfect,” he said, anyway Question from a journalist from “Entertainment Tonight”. He had addressed the “Top Gun: Maverick” star at his grandmother’s request, who would like to see her grandson as the successor to Daniel Craig (54). How serious Teller is about his willingness is not entirely clear from his statement.

‘He can be that guy’: Leona Flowers on grandson Miles Teller

Leona Flowers had the Miles Teller 007 debate in early July launched on Twitter. “They are looking for an actor to replace Daniel Craig in future 007 movies,” wrote the actor’s grandmother. “I think my grandson Miles Teller has proven that he has everything you’re looking for – talent, looks, strength, global appeal and he’s so cool. He can be that guy!! Wouldn’t he be awesome?”

But there’s a problem: Miles Teller is American, which would be unusual for a British intelligence agent. All previous Bond actors were from Great Britain or Ireland. Or, as Australians, at least came from the Commonwealth, like the 007 mayfly George Lazenby (82).

James Bond also had a scar on his face

Many Twitter users confronted Leona Flowers with this dilemma. But the plate grandma also had an answer: “He studied acting, which also includes accents”, she wrote in a follow-up tweet. In addition, many Europeans have played Americans. So why not the other way around?

The author of the guidebook Pages from Grandma’s Notebooks (for which her grandson wrote the foreword) goes even further. According to its inventor Ian Fleming, James Bond has a scar on his cheek. Miles Teller’s face is also scarred after an accident in 2007.

Not Americans: These stars are considered favorites for the Bond role

Miles Teller’s grandmother’s bold proposal seems to remain an outsider’s opinion. Official bookmakers’ favorites to succeed Daniel Craig remain British actors: “Witcher” Henry Cavill (39), “Bridgerton” star Regé-Jean Page (34), “Venom” Tom Hardy (44) and “12 Years a Slave “-Actor Chiwetel Ejiofor (45) are currently ahead of the betting shops.
