Israeli troops attacked an operations center in the Palestinian city of Tulkarem. The consequences: several injured and dead.

According to the army, Israeli security forces have destroyed an operations center for Palestinian militants in the Palestinian town of Tulkarem. Dozens of explosive devices were also found and neutralized there, it said.

During the operation in the town The troops on the West Bank came under fire and fired back. According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, two Palestinians aged 21 and 32 were killed. They suffered gunshot wounds to the head.

The Israeli army said a soldier was moderately injured by shrapnel during the shelling and was taken to a hospital.

Among other things, monitoring devices and computers were found in the command center, the army said in a statement. The troops used heavy equipment to find explosive devices hidden under the streets. Many explosive devices exploded.

The security situation in Israel and the West Bank has long been tense. Since the beginning of the year, 27 Israelis, one Ukrainian and one Italian have been killed in attacks. During the same period, 196 Palestinians died in Israeli military operations, confrontations or after their own attacks.

Israel conquered the West Bank and East Jerusalem in 1967. The Palestinians claim the areas for an independent state of Palestine with the Arab-dominated eastern part of Jerusalem as its capital.
