Sarah “Fergie” Ferguson, 63, Duchess, has had surgery. Beatrice and Eugenie’s mother received the breast cancer diagnosis after a routine check-up, her spokesman said. “The Duchess is receiving the best medical care possible and her doctors have given her a positive prognosis. As a puppy with deformed hind legs, he had been taken to a shelter by a breeder to be euthanized, but was then adopted. Sometimes he uses a trolley. Now the animal won the “World’s Ugliest Dog” competition in Petaluma, California. He’s a “very sweet boy,” Elmquist told dpa. She can now look forward to prize money equivalent to 1380 euros. The organizers of the competition said that the aim was not to make fun of the ugly dogs, but to highlight their endearing side. Many of the four-legged friends come from animal shelters, the campaign calls for abandoned dogs to be taken in.
