Recruited in February 2023 by FC Metz from AS Génération Foot, its partner club in Senegal, Lamine Camara revealed himself to the general public this Sunday during his team’s defeat in Monaco (2-1). The 19-year-old midfielder scored a goal from 58 meters to open the scoring in the 4th minute at the Louis-II stadium, during this match on the 9th day of Ligue 1. This is his first achievement in the championship of France.
After a ball lost by ASM French international Youssouf Fofana, Camara scored a superb lob to deceive the Monegasque goalkeeper Philipp Köhn, who was very advanced.
“I had seen that the goalkeeper was sometimes too far from his cages, so as soon as the opportunity presented itself, I did not hesitate,” confided Messin at half-time of the match, on the microphone of Canal+.
