Endless traffic jams, crowded buses, angry users and drivers. Since the giant breakdown on metro line B, to the forced shutdown since November 18, there has been big chaos in Rennes. And the situation is unlikely to improve. Two unions of the operator Keolis, Unsa and CFDT, have just filed an unlimited strike notice from Saturday.
This decision follows a meeting held on Tuesday between the unions and Keolis management regarding the payment of an exceptional bonus to employees, who have been facing an “overload of work” for a month. » Management proposed a value sharing bonus of 150 euros for employees with less than a month of absence this year and 75 euros for others.
“Our only way to put pressure”
At the end of the meeting, the CGT, the majority union, signed the agreement. But not the Unsa and the CFDT who therefore decided to maintain their strike notice. “We need recognition and this is our only way to put pressure on management,” underlines Philippe Simon, Unsa union representative, judging the amount of the bonus “insufficient. » “Especially since this bonus is subject to certain conditions which is unacceptable,” he assures.
Keolis should communicate details of the disruptions on Friday afternoon. According to a union source, the strike movement should be fairly sustained, which suggests a happy mess on Saturday in the city center which should be crowded one week before Christmas.
