It almost sounds like a joke, but Friedrich Merz of all people now wants to make the Union younger and more feminine. It’s just stupid that there is criticism from the younger and more female niche of the CDU.

Franziska December has two small children, a lot of stress in her economics studies, a speech slot at the CDU party conference and actually she also has a heart for Friedrich Merz. Before the 29-year-old has to go back to the university library to study for her exam and work on her speech at the party conference, she just finds time for a quick lunch at Berlin’s Gendarmenmarkt. So while Franziska December saws up a schnitzel with a little effort, which only gives an idea of the plate underneath, she says: “I’m an absolute Merz supporter.”
