It was ten years after their meeting on the set of “Un gar, une fille” that Alexandra Lamy and Jean Dujardin decided to unite. Wanting to preserve their privacy, the couple had not publicly announced their marriage. However, an audience of fans gathered on July 25, 2009 in the town hall square of Anduze, the actress’s hometown, near Arles.
Perched on the benches or even clinging to the lampposts, the admirers were present in front of the town hall when the newlyweds arrived at 5.30 p.m. While Jean Dujardin was able to quickly escape, by joining the back door of the establishment, his fiancée was not so lucky, as our colleagues from the “Midi Libre” had specified at the time.
The car driving the actress was slowed down due to a minor accident. His vehicle has indeed knocked down a woman in her fifties. Fortunately, the impact was not serious. During this time, the public was still able to place themselves around the 4×4 to see their favorite star. Being used to this situation, Alexandra Lamy was not destabilized. Quite the contrary. Smiling, she also long greeted her fans.
Crowd of fans, police, backdoors…
After saying “yes” to the mayor and his deputy, the newlyweds left through the main entrance of the town hall, around 6:00 p.m., under the traditional throwing of rice. Gendarmes and security guards were requisitioned in order to “contain the enthusiasm of the crowd which had been waiting for them for some since the beginning of the afternoon”.
Radiant, the lovers did not hesitate to play the game in front of the flashes of the photographers and to greet their admirers. The opportunity to also take a closer look at their outfits: a tie suit for him and a mermaid dress, revealing her shoulders, for her. They then retreated through a back door at the back of the establishment. In the alley a Porsche Cayenne was waiting for them to take them to the reception venue of the ceremony, the Domaine de Bagard in Sauve, in the Gard.
Among the 300 guests were the families of the actors, in particular their respective children: Chloé Jouannet (born in 1997), fruit of the relationship between Alexandra Lamy and the Swiss actor Thomas Jouannet, Jules (born in 2000) and Simon (born in 2001) from the story between Jean Dujardin and Gaëlle Demars. Many friends of the couple also came, like Mélanie Doutey, pregnant, and her companion at the time, Gilles Lellouche.
A tandem in life as on screen
Alexandra Lamy and Jean Dujardin met in 1999 on the set of the humorous series “A guy, a girl”. Those who were nicknamed Chouchou and Loulou embodied a young couple there. A love story that, after finally overcoming fiction, was made official after the program ended in 2003.
From that date, the actors have subsequently collaborated on two feature films, starting with “Lucky Luke” (directed by James Huth in 2009). While the actress played a saloon singer, her former husband played the hero of the film. That year, they were also to work both in Alexandra Lamy’s first feature film, entitled “My Hero”. A project that ultimately never happened. However, in 2012 the former couple did indeed have the chance to shoot together in the sketch film “Les Infidèles” (co-directed by Gilles Lellouche).
In November 2013, after ten years of relationship, Alexandra Lamy and Jean Dujardin have announced their separation. Yet discreet about their private life, they both confided in this period during interviews. “Both of us have experienced wonderful things,” said the actress in 2016 for “Current Woman”, before adding that their relationship was “cordial”.
Since then, everyone has rebuilt their lives. Following her divorce, Alexandra Lamy left to live with her daughter in London, until 2019. Jean Dujardin now shares his daily life with former skater Nathalie Péchalat, the mother of his daughters Jeanne (8 years old) and Alice (2 years old).
