Airbnb: Five absurdly expensive vacation rentals in Southern Europe

Sea views, free-standing bathtubs, our own pool and perhaps a household help – on vacation we like to treat ourselves to something that we can safely do without in everyday life. After all, a little luxury can’t hurt, can it? Well, as long as it doesn’t cost that much. Most of the time it is still your wallet that decides where your next trip goes – and what amenities are actually available there. Instead of your own pool, it often becomes the family pool, the free-standing tub quickly becomes a shower and the sea view can perhaps still be glimpsed from a long distance or behind many house facades. Your own household help is mimed by the cleaning staff in the hotel. And the vacation is usually still a pleasure.

Five absurdly expensive vacation rentals in Europe

When we travel, it’s often not about the greatest possible luxury; we can’t pay for the most beautiful memories with money anyway. And yet, of course, there are also those who have a particularly good time on vacation – or simply over a weekend – thanks to the inexhaustible options. But how do you actually go on vacation when money isn’t an issue at all? We asked ourselves the same question and are showing in a picture gallery five vacation rentals in Europe that are absurdly expensive. The villas are more for those of us who don’t have to worry about their wallet. But you can still dream, right?
