It is not known who he and his victims are. At around 7.45 a.m., the police were informed by an emergency call about the shots fired in “Factory 56” in the Böblingen district, around 15 kilometers south-west of Stuttgart. Heavily armed special forces then raced to the car factory, and helicopters were also deployed. The background to the crime is still unclear.

The “Factory 56” is a new work by Mercedes-Benz. Among other things, the new generation of the S-Class will be produced on an area the size of around 30 football pitches, according to the company.

The “Bild” newspaper first reported on the fatal incident at the plant.

More on this shortly at this point.
