Menopause: “Women feel let down by their bodies” – Munich

The gynecologist Claudia Sievers has specialized in the menopause. She wants to get the subject out of his corner. A conversation about the “Big Five” of the menopause, foggy thinking – and how women get through this time well.

The 51-year-old gynecologist Claudia Sievers, like her colleagues, advises on questions relating to contraception, the desire to have children and during pregnancy. In addition, she accompanies patients especially during the menopause. The problems that women between the ages of 40 and 55 or older can have are totally individual, says Sievers. Her advice goes far beyond treating physical ailments. “It’s also about life empowerment and psychological support.” The campaign #wirsindneinmillionen and the hearing of the politicians Dorothee Bär and Julia Klöckner this spring confirm the Munich doctor’s commitment to the topic. She sees comrades-in-arms in the gynecologist Sheila de Liz (“Woman on fire”) and the ecotrophologist Susanne Liedtke. On their “Nobodytoldme” platform, Sievers complains in a video about the low box office fee, and Sievers apologizes several times for speaking so quickly. But that’s probably because she has so much to say on the subject. Sievers is married and the mother of two daughters, she works in a doctor’s office and in her own holistic private practice.
