Thirteen men aged 25 to 70 appear this Thursday before the Valenciennes court for having had sexual relations, paid or not, with a 14-year-old girl, the prosecution said. Presented in immediate appearance, the suspects were arrested as part of an investigation for “use of prostitution of a minor by a person put in contact with the victim via an electronic communications network” and “solicitation of “pornographic image of a minor” opened by the Valenciennes gendarmerie research brigade.
The teenager prostituted himself via the “coco” site
The young girl “engaged in prostitution via the “coco” website,” said the Valenciennes prosecutor, Christelle Dumont, in a press release.
Aged 25 to 70, and of “varied profiles (employees, workers, soldiers, bakers, temporary workers, apprentices, etc.)”, the 13 men were arrested by gendarmes from Valenciennes, Avesnes-sur-Helpe, Douai, Cambrai, Arras and Beauvais. The defendants face a sentence of three years’ imprisonment and a fine of 45,000 euros.
