A 13-year-old child dies after allegedly taking an ecstasy pill. An arrest warrant has been issued for a suspect who is said to have traded the pills.

According to the alleged Drug death of a 13-year-old girl from Altentreptow, an arrest warrant has been issued against a 37-year-old. He is said to have given narcotics to minors in two cases, the district court in Neubrandenburg said on Tuesday. No arrest warrant was issued against a 17-year-old due to a lack of grounds for arrest. The police initially arrested four suspects.

The 13-year-old died in hospital on Monday, presumably as a result of taking a “Blue Punisher” ecstasy pill. According to the police, her 15-year-old friend, who went to school in Altentreptow like her, is in the hospital and is on the mend. Meanwhile, a 14-year-old girl from Neubrandenburg is fighting for her life in the intensive care unit of the clinic in Neubrandenburg – she too, presumably, after taking “Blue Punisher”. The pill is considered high-dose ecstasy. Police believe Blue Punisher is still circulating in the area and are warning against taking the drug. Even one pill can be life-threatening.

According to the investigators, a fourth girl from Malchin, also in the Mecklenburgische Seenplatte district, also took “Blue Punisher” – she could have been questioned and confirmed the intake. The girl suffered from nausea and abdominal pain at times, but is well again. According to the investigators’ knowledge so far, only the 13- and 15-year-olds were known to each other.

At the weekend, a 15-year-old died in the neighboring state of Brandenburg – presumably also as a result of drug use, according to the local public prosecutor. An autopsy should clarify the cause of death. According to their own statements, the investigators also have a possible connection with the death of the 13-year-old from Altentreptow in mind.
