Martine Wonner, figure of the covido-skeptics and ex-MP, in front of the Order of Physicians

The former LREM deputy for Bas-Rhin and figure of the covido-skeptics Martine Wonner is summoned on November 4 before the disciplinary chamber of the Regional Council of the Order of Physicians in Nancy. The summons of this trained psychiatrist to the disciplinary chamber of first instance comes after two complaints: one filed by a group of doctors and the other by the National Council of the Order of Physicians (CNOM). Penalties range from a warning to disbarment, according to the Order.

The CNOM indicated that it had filed a complaint against Martine Wonner after the remarks she had made in the conspiratorial documentary Heistreleased in May 2021. The second complaint was filed by the “No FakeMed” collective, an association created in 2018 by health professionals to fight against “unscientific care practices” and promote medicine and care “ based on scientific evidence”.

Excluded from the LREM in 2020

Contacted, neither Martine Wonner nor the “NoFakeMed” collective could be contacted immediately. The support committee of the former MP called for a rally on November 4 morning in front of the Nancy premises of the Regional Council of the Order, in a press release posted on Facebook and Twitter.

Martine Wonner, a figure of covid-skeptics, has repeatedly attacked government policy when she was elected. She relentlessly spread infox about the mask, claiming that it “is absolutely useless”, or vaccines, attributing to the latter “deleterious consequences” on health: “miscarriages”, “multiple cancers”, “Creutzfeld Jacob’s disease” or “AIDS”, echoing allegations from the anti-vaccine sphere. Elected in 2017, LREM had excluded her after her vote against the deconfinement plan in May 2020. Then her new parliamentary group, Libertés et Territoires (bringing together deputies from the center left and center right), had also asked for her exclusion in July 2021 after remarks calling on anti-sanitary pass demonstrators to “invade” the offices of parliamentarians.

Martine Wonner then launched her own training in September 2021, “Ensemble pour les libertés”. She was not re-elected in June 2022, winning just over 5% of the vote in the first round.
