The older ones will remember: Between 2003 and 2006 there was a successful Heimatfilm series called “Zwei am Großes See” that was shot in the region around Bad Tölz and on Lake Starnberg. In short, it was about a villa, inheritance disputes, a nasty innkeeper and his Amigo friends. The films ran under such beautiful titles as “Great feelings” or “Hostile takeover”.
And now the surprise: The CDU and CSU have secretly worked on a remake of the Schnulzen saga. In the main roles: their respective chairmen or in-spe chairmen Markus Söder and Friedrich Merz. Under the working title “Two big ones at the lake – oaths of loyalty at the footbridge”, both political actors show themselves at the height of their skills. Great cinema, as the couple initially strangers, hesitantly approaching each other physically, and then – always under the sword of Damocles from an impending Ice Age – sink into intimate togetherness on a bank.
We are already predicting: This heartfelt family drama will drive the conservative-bourgeois camp back in droves to the folding chairs of the local associations. But what the story is really worth will only be revealed in four years, when the political audience can vote on which production they liked best. The traffic light comedy “Olaf, Annalena, Christian – three are one too many” will also enter the race.
