Blink 182 frontman Mark Hoppus is pursuing his passion after recovering from cancer. The singer makes music again.

Blink 182 bassist Mark Hoppus (50) is enjoying his life after his cancer, which he has officially overcome since September 2021. A reporter from TMZ asked him about his current state of health after visiting a restaurant in West Hollywood last weekend, and the singer was willing to provide information.

He was “glad to be here” and was “just about to get out again,” said the musician. After overcoming the illness and the treatments, he “would like to go back out into the studio and make music again and get off my couch,” he said with a smile. When asked when fans could hope for new music, he explained: “Hopefully soon. Let’s see if I can write something happy this time.”

Months of battling cancer

Hoppus announced on September 29, 2021, after a month-long battle with cancer, that he was officially cancer-free and is now in remission. He only has to have a check-up every six months, but all treatments have been completed. Hoppus suffered from stage four diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. In June, the singer made his cancer public.

As part of Blink-182, the Californian had his international breakthrough in 1999 thanks to the single “All the Small Things” and the accompanying album “Enema of the State”. The band, which also includes drummer Travis Barker (46) and guitarist and singer Matt Skiba (46), recently released the single “Quarantine”.
