Marius Müller-Westerhagen turns 75 – an interview – culture

It’s cold in Berlin. Marius Müller-Westernhagen appears in the library room of the Berlin restaurant Borchardt in a winter coat. The singer, who received the Max Ophüls Prize and the Golden Camera as an actor, turns 75 this Wednesday. To mark the occasion, Warner Music has released a best of 75 songs. Westernhagen sinks into a leather armchair, where he still looks like the thin herring of “fatness”. Next year he will start a tour through Germany with nine musicians, all of whom come from the States. After two hours he will ask if he hasn’t chatted too much.
