Thanks to 7.56 million viewers, the ZDF series “Marie Brand” set a record. The new episode also secured the day’s victory.

Great success for the popular ZDF series “Marie Brand”. The episode “Marie Brand and the Persecuted Bride” broadcast on Saturday evening achieved, according to the official ratings of the AGF Videoforschung in collaboration with GfK achieved a market share of 30.6 percent in the overall audience – more than any other “Marie Brand” episode ever before. The industry magazine “DWDL” first reported on the record. The previous record was a market share of 30.3 percent from 2022. On average, on April 20, 2024 from 8:15 p.m., 7.56 million people aged three and over watched the 90 minutes of “Marie Brand” on ZDF.

This means that ZDF also won the day with the overall audience. The ARD show “Do you understand fun?” went to second place in prime time. In the first, thanks to 2.67 million people crossing the finish line in front of their TV sets. Third place went to the new RTL game show “Three against One” with 1.84 million viewers. In the segment of the so-called advertising-relevant target group of the 14 to 49-year-old audience, however, “Do you understand fun?” was the most popular choice during prime time. at the top (0.6 million), followed by “Three against One” (0.56 million) and the ProSieben show “The Masked Singer” (0.55 million).

The crime series “Marie Brand” has been running on ZDF since 2009

The ZDF series “Marie Brand” was first broadcast in December 2008. At the center of the crime series with comedic elements is the inspector of the same name, played by Mariele Millowitsch (68). Her colleague Jürgen Simmel, played by Hinnerk Schönemann (49), is at her side right from the start. 34 episodes have been broadcast so far. The viewer record in absolute numbers is still held by the above-mentioned episode “Marie Brand and the Conquered Death,” with a total of 9.03 million people tuning in on February 2, 2022.
