“I’m in top shape again and very grateful that I’m doing so well,” explains Marcel Remus in an interview.

Celebrity agent Marcel Remus (35) has lived life in the fast lane for many years. 2021 then the shock. The 35-year-old is taken to a hospital in Mallorca with heart problems. A warning shot, as he says in retrospect today. In an interview, he reveals how his life has changed since then and what plans he has made for this year.

How are you today? Have you recovered from the 2021 incident?

Marcel Remus: I’m in top shape again and very grateful that I’m doing so well.

After your heart problems, you announced that you would take time out from time to time. How have you managed this project so far?

Remus: It starts with taking more time for myself in the morning, going for walks, stretching at the beach, eating lunch more slowly, not working seven days a week, but giving myself at least one day off. When possible, I reward myself with more short trips to get out and unwind.

What are your biggest lessons from the experience over the past year?

Remus: No matter how old you are, you should always listen to your body and definitely take warning signs seriously! I’ve also researched and read a lot about heart health because I didn’t know much about it until now. Since I believe many others feel the same way, I am pleased to be able to shed light on this important topic with Abbott.

What does a “normal” working day look like for you today?

Remus: Every day is different for me and that’s what I love about my job. I show successful clients the most beautiful properties on Mallorca, meet exciting people who want to sell their houses, deal with the topic of marketing, regularly shoot reports about Mallorca and my business for German television. Once a year I organize the big “Remus Lifestyle Night”, so I never get bored.

You once referred to the real estate business as “shark tank”. How much pressure does it put on you to want to be the best of the best?

Remus: Of course you always want more and aim high, especially when you’re young like me. At the age of 35, you are very motivated to become even more successful every year and to top it even more every year. But I have learned: “Less is more” and the most important thing is health.

In 2021 you were able to more than double the turnover with your company compared to 2019, what forecasts do you dare for 2022?

Remus: I’ve set myself a very high annual target of 150 million transaction volumes and I’m well on the way to achieving it. But not at any price – full throttle and attack, but health comes first.

What have you planned for this year?

Remus: A lot will happen this year. Soon I will inaugurate my second villa in Son Vida near Palma. This is the “Remus Vital Finca”, which customers can rent for their holidays. I’m also preparing my “Remus Lifestyle Night” on August 4th and am busy writing my second book, which will be published next year.

The Corona rules have almost completely overturned in Mallorca. How is the mood currently on the Balearic island?

Remus: I really have to say that Mallorca has coped well with the Corona crisis. Of course, the tourism industry has been hit hard, but I still believe that we will have a good 2022.

Do you think tourism will return to Mallorca in full force this year?

Remus: I’m sure that Mallorca will experience a huge boom this year. The island is and remains one of the best travel destinations in all of Europe.

How do you assess the real estate business in Mallorca in the post-pandemic?

Remus: I can already see that many buyers are concerned about how they invest their money. The Corona situation and also the problem with inflation show that buyers are definitely investing their money in Mallorca with a clear conscience. And if they then buy their property from me, everything is perfect. (laughs)
