MaPrimeRénov’: here is the amount of the increase in aid for 2024

The government announced on Wednesday October 11 that MaPrimeRenov’ will be refocused on complete energy renovations of thermal sieves on January 1, 2024. To do this, the executive will increase renovation aid to 5 billion euros per year.

The envelope swollen by 1.6 billion euros. The government is putting its hand in its pocket and moving up a gear to achieve its objective: that of 200,000 thermal renovations, from 2024. These announcements come after the uproar caused by the timetable for banning the rental of so-called thermal sieve housing.

Developments are still expected since the energy performance diagnosis (DPE), which classifies housing from A to G according to their energy consumption and their impact on the climate, should be revised in order to adapt “to the modalities heating” and “the size of the surfaces”, recently announced Bruno Le Maire, the Minister of the Economy.

Very modest to intermediate households concerned

Concretely, the National Housing Agency, which pilots the MaPrimeRénov’ system, will offer owners of energy sieves wishing to carry out a large-scale renovation, involving several projects, a coverage rate which “could reach 90% for households with very modest incomes”, with a ceiling which will reach 70,000 euros compared to 35,000 euros previously.

The Minister for Housing, Patrice Vergriete, also left the door open to partial funding for local authorities, “which must be able to support” so that the remaining cost is as low as possible for the French people concerned.

The government also announced “the increase in aid for the installation of geothermal air/water heat pumps, from 1,000 to 2,000 euros for households with modest and intermediate incomes”.

Also, households undertaking a large-scale renovation “will be systematically supported by an independent trusted third party approved by the State”, who will provide assistance in the technical, administrative and financial procedures enabling them to obtain aid and carry out the work, added the ministries in their press release.
