“Many traces of blood” in the apartment where a man was found dead

The investigations do not promise to be simple for Rennes departmental security investigators. Particularly because the apartment in which the lifeless body of a man was discovered was “in great disorder”. This Tuesday morning, it was a nurse who raised the alarm when she found the patient she had to treat seriously injured. On the fifth floor of this building on rue Papu, the caregiver also found the lifeless body of a man, probably the victim of a murder.

According to the deputy prosecutor, the seriously injured man is indeed the tenant of the apartment. He, like the deceased, “bears traces suggesting a brawl, possibly followed by stabbings,” specifies the duty magistrate of the Rennes public prosecutor’s office. The latter specifies that the apartment “contains numerous traces of blood” and cannot be fully searched until certain medical information has been transmitted to investigators.

Tuesday morning, the scientific police were present in the building but also in the square of this quiet residence located not far from the Mitterrand mall. Burst bottles, a Christmas tree and clothes had obviously been thrown from the accommodation located on the 5th floor.

The murder weapon still sought

Using a metal detector, investigators tried to find the murder weapon. She has not yet been identified or found. “The first elements from the neighborhood confirm an altercation in the middle of the night. At this very early stage, neither the perpetrator nor the circumstances are yet known, but potential witnesses are being identified,” concludes the prosecution.
